- Carpal Tunnel SyndromeJeff W. Johnson, M.D. an orthopaedic surgeon, has completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity surgery with the Philadelphia Hand Center and Thomas Jefferson University. He earned his medical degree and residency certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery while at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. A member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary, he was named the Resident Teacher of the Year in 2008. An author of several journal articles and book publications, his research includes an anatomic analysis of the shoulder for computer assisted surgery as well as the association between wrist trauma and carpal tunnel syndrome. He has presented his work internationally, as well as here in the States. He volunteers as an adjunct assistant clinical professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UAMS and plans to continue his research in addition to his clinical practice. Dr. Johnson has been a part of the Fayetteville community for twelve years and continues his practice in innovative surgery of the hand and upper extremity.

- Hand SurgeryR. Bryan Benafield Jr., MD was born in Fort Worth, TX, and grew up in Conway, AR. Dr. Benafield attended Hendrix College where he was an NAIA All American swimmer, graduating cum laude, With distinction in Biology. He obtained his MD from Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, TN in 1994. After finishing his orthopaedic surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, he then moved to San Francisco, CA where he completed a Hand Surgery fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center. He joined the clinic in 2000 and practices at both the Fayetteville and Bentonville clinics. His practice focus is hand and upper extremity surgery with a special interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. In his off time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and their children. She practiced as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Arkansas while obtaining a Master of Education in Sports Management in 2011. In 2014 she graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to joining Ozark Orthopaedics, she worked in neurosurgery and emergency medicine. She joined Ozark Orthopaedics in 2021 and works alongside Dr. Creech and Dr. Heinzelmann in the operating room and in clinic providing care to patients with joint reconstructions, arthroscopic procedures, and sports related injuries. Katie lives in Northwest Arkansas with her husband and two sons. They enjoy spending time on the lake and exploring the great outdoors.

His interest in medicine came in part from his father, who was an orthopaedic surgeon.
