- Dental ExaminationPreventive dentistry deals with the prevention of dental disease. During the initial oral examination, you’ll receive a customized prevention plan based on a thorough evaluation of your oral cavity. This is a dynamic plan that is revised during subsequent periodic examinations.
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningFor new patients and those long overdue for dental care, we provide a thorough assessment of your teeth, gum and jaw health. Our comprehensive exam also includes a discussion of your dental history, an oral cancer screening, comprehensive digital x-rays and a check for gingivitis and periodontal disease. Together we’ll find a treatment plan to help you achieve your best smile.
- Teeth Cleaning
- Fluoride Treatment
- Dental Sealants
- Space MaintainersInstead of the goop traditionally used for making dental impressions, we apply advanced technology to take virtual images of highest accuracy and resolution. A laser wand allows us to scan your teeth and gums, with real-time images shown on a monitor that you can watch with us. The images are sent to a lab where a precise dental model is made for crowns, bridges, space maintainers, mouthguards, or for other uses and devices.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeAlso known as “white fillings,” tooth-colored fillings are made of amalgam-free composite resin and matched to your own teeth in color and appearance. They restore decayed or fractured teeth and bond chemically to the tooth structure, restoring up to 95% of the tooth’s original strength.
- Veneers“I’ve been very pleased with my experience at Dr. Duckworth’s office. From the minute I walk in the door, they make me feel like I’m a part of their family. Dr. Duckworth and all of the staff always let me know exactly what they are doing and why so that I am aware of what’s going on in my mouth. My veneers have definitely helped my confidence level in that I’m not afraid to smile anymore because I know my teeth look good. I owe all the credit to my amazing dentist! I would recommend Dr. Duckworth to anyone!”
- CrownsIf you’ve fractured a tooth or lost significant tooth structure due to decay, our custom-made, metal-free porcelain crowns restore normal function and a pleasing appearance.
- Bridges
- Dental BondingA cost-effective solution for chipped teeth or gaps between teeth is tooth bonding. The materials used can match the color of neighboring teeth and are long lasting and natural looking.
- Root Canal TreatmentFor some reason (trauma, decay, etc.), the nerve in your tooth is dead or dying. As this occurs, it rots (necrosis). Bacteria are always present in the oral cavity, which provides for them an ideal environment (moist, warmth and food). They are fruitful and multiply. This leads to an abscess, a localized pus pocket, which can become extremely painful. The remnants of the nerve and the bacteria must be removed. This is the first part of a root canal.
- Deep CleaningThe treatment usually depends on the severity of the problem. If the infection below the gumline is caught early, generally the problem can be controlled by scaling and root planing (a deep cleaning usually accomplished while you’re numb). If the disease has progressed, surgery may be required. This involves pushing the gums back, removing affected tooth structure, calculus, plaque, gum tissue and remodeling the bone. Sometimes skin and/or bone grafting are necessary. If gum disease is left untreated, it will progress, leading to loose teeth and tooth loss.
- DenturesWith our skillful use of digital technology, dental prosthetics for our patients are designed by computer and manufactured to achieve greater accuracy, fit, turnaround time and easily-accessed digital files.
- Dental ImplantsHave you lost teeth? One of the worst effects of missing teeth is bone loss to the jaw. Because bone growth is stimulated naturally by chewing action, when you lose a tooth, that growth no longer happens. In fact, you can lose as much as one fourth of bone width in the first year after losing a tooth. The good news is that bone grafts can provide the basis for new bone growth to occur, allowing you to have the support for strong, lasting tooth implants. For the bone graft, we’ll refer you to a trusted oral surgeon whose expertise will ensure the best possible care.
- Oral Surgery
- Tooth ExtractionsMany infections can develop within the oral cavity, and, if untreated can spread, leading to swelling, bleeding, pain, bone loss and even hospitalization or death. Our oral health team has a lightning-quick response to the first signs of infection, whether stemming from tooth decay, abscessed teeth, viral and fungal infections, bone infections or others. Treatment may include prescribed antibiotics, root canal, surgical drainage or tooth extraction.
- Bone GraftingWhether you’re looking for cosmetic dentistry for a better appearance or have a medical need, our full-mouth reconstruction plan follows several steps, including an assessment of the issues you’re having, a treatment plan in which you actively participate and procedures such as extractions, bone grafting, placement of provisional teeth— and finally, the restorative teeth. Every case is different, but our top priority is always the same—your optimal oral health and well-being.
- OrthodonticsThe TMJ problem could be treated in a number of different ways. An occlusal splint may be utilized. Orthodontics can reposition crooked teeth if they are the cause. Equilibration (selective reshaping) of involved teeth can sometimes help. If the above methods are of little assistance, surgery may be indicated.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsOrthodontics have come a long way from braces with awkward wires and rubber bands. Invisalign® braces are made from clear plastic and are practically invisible. The braces discreetly align your teeth and are easy to use and care for. We’ll be happy to help you achieve the beautiful, confident smile of your dreams.
- BracesWe build customized retainers in a variety of designs so teeth can maintain their new alignment after braces are taken off. The retainers can be removable or fixed and are also sometimes used to treat minor orthodontic problems.
- Teeth WhiteningSafe, gentle and effective, most patients can have significantly whiter teeth in just a few days. Our in-house whitening procedure can be accomplished in a single visit to give you a youthful, confident smile. We also offer professional, customized bleaching trays that you can take home for DIY smile brightening.
- Cosmetic Dentistry“From the moment my permanent teeth grew in as a child, I have been embarrassed to smile. My teeth were crooked and discolored. The awful thing is that I have so much to smile about, yet I would feel the need to cover my mouth. You and your amazing staff changed all of that for me. If anyone is thinking about cosmetic dentistry and thinks it’s too late or they’re too old, it’s never too late, and it is so worth it!! I am not embarrassed to smile, and I don’t have to hide behind my hand anymore. All the joy that I feel is clearly and openly displayed for all to see. Thank you for the gift you have given me.”
