Newfield Exploration is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development and acquisition of crude oil and natural gas properties. The company's areas of operation include the Gulf of Mexico, the onshore Gulf Coast, the Anadarko and Arkoma Basins of the Mid-Continent and the Uinta Basin of the Rocky Mountains. Internationally, the company is active offshore Malaysia, in the North Sea, offshore Brazil and in China's Bohai Bay. It has proved reserves of nearly 2 trillion cubic feet of crude oil or condensate equivalent. Of those reserves, approximately 70 percent are natural gas and nearly 75 percent are proved developed, of which another approximate 70 percent are located onshore in the United States, nearly 25 percent are located in the Gulf of Mexico and less than 5 percent are located internationally.
