All I can say is..., do your own research and don't believe the hype about the not for profit organizations with rigorous training and or years of experience. David Stokes, Owner and Certified-Licensed Home Inspector for Ambassador Inspections, as an independent inspector and non-organization member receive a bad rap from them. But I can personally attest that he is very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and polite, he knows his stuff and even pointed me in the direction of other professional inspection companies not pertaining to the home inspection but specialty inspections like, sink hole, wind mitigation, pest and septic. They all met at the home at the same time and completed their inspections within hours. However I could not have accomplished this in such a timely fashion without Ambassador Inspections cooperation, advice and assistance. Maybe he should sell houses too? Maybe he should be an Instructor or Trainer for the not for profit home inspection organizations?
I recently had a home inspected twice, that I am now excited to be the owner of in Hernando County FL. As a first time buyer I had no idea of what I was getting myself into. My agent suggested I use a Certified Home Inspector listed with the ASHI because of they are a well known non-profit home inspectors organization. They may be well known, but I suggest everyone do their own research and hirei , after the completion of the home inspection, I reviewed the inspection report and was very displeased with the whole thing. I feel like the inspection company/inspector was an independent company that had signed on with the organization for advertisement purposes, I guess cost a pretty penny? Afterwards I google search in the area and came across Ambassador Inspections also an independent home inspection company but Licensed by the State of Florida, Certified by AHIT, His service was personal and friendly, yet very professional. I was able to walk through a very informative home inspection.
