The teachers at York Area Repertoire of Dance have taught me soooo much. I've not only learned how to dance better but I've also learned valuable life skills. The Teaching Staff is amazing and does a great job at including all students and helping students having trouble. The entire staff is friendly and willing to help out whomever may need it. The atmosphere here is very loving. The teachers and other staff really care about each student. They care not only about their dancing ability and technique but also their happiness and life outside of dance. The group of students at this studio is very close knit but willing and wanting to take in new comers and make them feel at home. The teaching staff has great experience and is a ton of fun. I would recommend this studio to anyone of any age and/or ability.

This studio is just awsome! It has made my daughter grow in so many ways . The leadership is excellent. The Artistic Director has a four year college degree in dance and her foundation is sound. She also has a great repoire with the students that help them to grow artistically, mentally, and physically. There is a super goup of students who become fast friends and support each other in and out of the studio. Students are welcoming to new students.
The students who choose to be part of the dance company really excell. Competiotions are available by student choice. The best thing about participating in Cmpany is the comaradary and opportunity to grow as individuals. Students can participate as individuals in solos, duos, or trios or in group numbers. The choerography is awesome and the Company has done well in the competitions in which they have participated. I will add that this studio is not all about competitions. It is all about growing as individuals and as student dancers.
The studio has such a focus on the whole child. Many of the students are honor students and can be found doing homework, and helping each other academically, between their dance classes in the homework area. Beyond that and more to the point of a dance studio, the classes are so growth oriented to the student performer. There are classes in all the traditional dance areas with ballet as a basic building block and many other kinds of dance such as jazz, modern, lyrical, and tap available. Students can also take classes in student choreography....and learn the elements of choreography.... My daughter loved it! There are also oppurtunities for students to learn voice and perform in musical theater and acting classes. The vocal teacher also has a four year college degree in vocal performing and is just excellent with the students.

As a mom I see that my daughter has benefited in and out of the performing arts arena. She has gained physical fitness, confidence, friendship, time organization, great academics. She has also become a fantastic dancer and has attained skill to dance in the studio and beyond. The owners support each student to reach for the stars and give them the training to do so.
