Provided by YP.comBeing a female and not knowing a whole lot about cars, I am quite upset with how they attempted to take advantage of me. To think that they can try to charge me beyond what was needed is disgusting. My car, in which I just purchased in October (6 months ago), had a painful grinding sound coming from my front left brake. I brought in my car to have them look at it, assuming a rock was lodged or the brake pad needed to be changed; I was expecting to fork out $200 or so. Several hours after I was told my car would be ready after a quick inspection, I called them and asked the progress. They proceeded to tell me all four of my brakes were in terrible condition and needed to be replaced, including all my rotors, and ABS lines. They quoted me $784. Confused as to why my new car needed all new brakes, I told them I would come and pick up my car to get another person to look at it. Guy, the man who I spoke with was upset and short with me when I told him I didn't want them to repair my car.
After taking my car to another mechanic they told me my brakes were at 85%, almost like new. The only issue was my front left brake in which needed a new brake-pad and my rotor was barely scratched. I was told that when Lloyd's took apart my brakes to inspect it, they put them back together half-assed. The wires were hanging out rubbing against the brakes, not clipped in where they should have been. I was only charged $185, compared to their disgusting $784 quote. As a customer, you would think they would take the time to be honest and careful with someone else's property. I am so disappointed and unhappy with your service. I would never recommend them.

Provided by DexKnowsI stopped in because of a scraping noise coming from my wheel that a friend told me was brakes. They did a courtesy inspection and found a bent plate inside my wheel, fixed it and sent me on my way. Thanks for the friendly service and honesty!!

Provided by DexKnowsThis place is rediculous dont trust these people! something seems fishy about the way they operate! every time i went in there and peered trough shop windows while my car was working on i saw some short guy bent over with his pants around his ankles and no shirt tucked in. very unprofesional. very clean and neat shop with good appearances but that doesnt matter when the work perfromed was shotty and in my eyes rigged. would not recomend this place to anybody especialy when the part i payed for i could have walked in and got it cheaper right from the parts store!

Provided by DexKnowsI've taken my truck to Lloyd's a couple of times now. The first time they had my truck for 4 days - but I gave them the benefit of the doubt - and had an $800 bill. This last time - same thing. I had repairs, drove home and the problem was not fixed! This led to a lot of back peddling and excuses. Additionally, they had the audacity to say that there was another problem and this would cost another $500. Now my bill is closing in on $1000. I don't think that the original diagnosis of the problem was correct. I will not be going back.

Provided by DexKnowsI took my car in as my clutch went out. It is a very odd problem as after hours of sitting it will work. They replaced the hydraulic for $285. A month later it happened again and it was towed to Lloyds. I was told it was a switch for $150 so I fixed it. A few weeks later the same thing happened while at the mall. I waited a few hours then it engaged. I took the car to Lloyds the next day and they pretty much said they don't know what is wrong. I was told by the guy at the front desk that the owner would get back to me to see what they could do about a refund. It has been three weeks and I have heard nothing. Guess it is off to small claims court!

Provided by DexKnowsI took my truck in for an alignment, and the guy at the counter told me they would check it out before they did it. Come to find out, most of the parts in my front end were wornout, and they also told me about some other leaks and repairs that were needed. Bottom line, they kept me from spending money on my truck that I ended up getting rid of. Thanks for being honest!!!

Provided by DexKnowsI took my car to Lloyd's Automotive to have the front end checked because of a "thunking noise". I was told the front end was fine, but I needed to have a hose replaced and my transmission flushed (which I did). Exactly two weeks to the day later the tie rod end broke while I was turning into a parking lot. When I called Lloyd's their attitude was like, oh well. The mechanic who did fix my car correctly told me that if it would have broke while I was on I-90 it probably would have flipped the car end for end. I will never go back to Lloyd's and definately would never recommend them.

Provided by DexKnowsI would not take my vehicle to Lloyds for an oil change!!! My vehicle was in three times within a month and they still couldn't fix it. I had to have it towed two of the three times as it continued to overheat. Plus I ended up paying for things they damaged/broke as they said the part would have broken soon anyway. After paying over $2000 I finally went to Appleway where they fixed my problem for under $300.

Provided by DexKnowsI went in for a check engine light on my car. I went to two other business before I found Lloyd's in the yellow pages and looked them up on the internet. They not only fixed my problem they were able to do it for less than the other 2 shops I went to. Save gas and time and go the first time. I will be back for all my service needs !
