Greenacres Middle School offers student-centered academic programs and serves more than 700 students in grades six thorough eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as social studies, science, language arts, music, reading, and physical and health education. The school also offers special education, migrant, learning assistance, English language development, transitional bilingual and reduced-price meals programs. It offers an accelerated reading program that motivates and encourages independent reading. The school has a team of counselors that provides a guidance counseling program. Its parent-teacher organization sponsors several events, such as reflection contests, book fairs and theme dances. Greenacres Middle School is located in Spokane Valley, Wash., and is administered by the Central Valley School District, which serves more than 12,300 students in over 20 schools.
