Southlake Police Services is a division within the Southlake Department of Public Safety. It is comprised of various specialty units, such as patrol, traffic, animal control, criminal investigations, warrant services, records, school resources and community services. Southlake Police Services employs a staff of more than 55 full-time sworn officers, civilians and community volunteers. The division operates a jail and detention center that houses inmates who are in pending trial status and serving short-term misdemeanor sentences. It maintains a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to laws, firearms instruction, defensive tactics, first aid, patrol procedures and investigations. Southlake Police Services also provides online crime statistics and maps, as well as online crime reporting applications.
