Southfield Fire Department with a fire force of more than 100 members is responsible for fire and rescue services in the city of Southfield. It offers services that include fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services to the citizens. Its operation division responds to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, rescue, and aircraft and rescue firefighting. The department offers a full line of emergency management services, including maintaining the emergency management plan; managing the emergency operation center and conducting annual disaster exercises. It also offers services that include coordinating and planning preparedness activities of city government; and preparing and maintaining a resource inventory.
