I've been a patient of Dr. Murphy's for over 20 yrs and his front office staff is less than desirable. I just called to make an appointment and the receptionist responded as if I was bothering her. During my last visit I sat at the front to be checked out while the receptionist and another office employee horse played. I didn't bother saying anything-----I just left. I figured whatever my co-pay was they could just bill me or I'll pay it next time. I had sat in the exam room longer than normal because Dr. Pearson had forgotten about me. Dr. Murphy is a great doctor, but I'm not sure he's worth putting up with his unprofessional office staff. Many of my family members stopped seeing Dr. Murphy years ago--------I've just been too lazy to find another doctor.

Are the receptionist in the business of limiting Dr. Murphy's business. If so, why doesn't he simply tell HAP and other HMO providers that he is NOT open to accepting new patients.
