Founded in 1898, the Southern Pines Fire Department is a government agency that is managed by the Town of Southern Pine in North Carolina. The department responds to more than 1,200 requests for emergency assistance annually, as well as is responsible for fire suppression, code enforcement, public education and prevention. It also provides emergency medical services. The Southern Pines Fire Department employs a staff of over 40 people. In addition, the department works to provide life safety and property conservation solutions through continuing education programs. The Southern Pines Fire Department maintains a fleet of assorted ground ladders, engines, trucks and pumps.
