The Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and surrounding area of North Carolina is home to 43 of the finest golf courses in the country, all within a 15 mile radius. Just east of Pinehurst is the delightful town of Southern Pines which also boasts a substantial golf pedigree. A center of golf for our nation, the area attracts visitors from around the world to enjoy its 42 courses. Pinehurst #2 was the home of the 1999 & 2005 Men’s U.S. Open. Just down the road, Pine Needles hosted the 1996, 2001 and 2007 Women’s U.S. Open. In a recent, unprecedented announcement by the USGA, both the Men’s and Women’s U.S. Open Championships will return to Pinehurst #2 in 2014 on consecutive weeks.! In addition, the area is well known for both Tennis and Equestrian events.
