United Food and Commercial Workers International Union represents workers in neighborhood grocery stores throughout North America. It operates in the retail, food processing and poultry industries. The union also protects the rights of workers and strengthens America s middle class by fighting for retirement security, health care reform, living wages and safe working conditions for men and women and their families. United Food and Commercial Workers International Union operates collective bargaining, communications, global strategies, organizing and legal departments. In addition, it maintains a food processing, packing and manufacturing division. The union provides the Capital Stewardship Program. United Food and Commercial Workers International Union also works with Canada Safeway, King Soopers, Real Canadian Superstore and Stater Brothers Markets.
