The South Pasadena Police Department is a law enforcement agency that is divided into field and support service divisions. It maintains a detective bureau that handles a variety of investigations, including arson, auto theft, burglary, child abuse, domestic violence, embezzlement, forgery, fraud, homicide, juvenile matters, missing persons, narcotics, rape, robbery and sexual offenses. The South Pasadena Police Department also has a K-9 division that handles issues related to drug intervention, tracking, and searches for persons, buildings and evidence. The department supports a cadet program that educates youths to learn tactics, procedures, laws and other daily duties of police officers.
