• Decks
  Plaza decks are outside public areas of buildings, located at or above grade level.  Constructed utilizing carefully selected waterproofing systems to protect the structure and property beneath them from moisture, decks are typically covered by porcelain or concrete pavers.
• Gutters
  Located just steps from the Main Administration Building known for its world-famous Golden Dome, Remick Family Hall successfully integrates multiple roof systems while incorporating the best of Gothic design and modern construction techniques. These include a slate mansard with 34 dormers topped by a  copper standing-seam roof, a paver patio deck over a low-slope membrane, and a one-of-a-kind custom cupola fabricated of copper containing over 700 flat-seamed zinc panels affixed to a cold-formed metal frame. Adding to the complexity and uniqueness of the project, all metal components including dormers, cornices, gutters, collector boxes, and the cupola, were all prefabricated in Midland’s sheet metal shop.

  We are known for our expertise in performing every phase of slate and tile restoration, including the installation of gutters, snow guards, valleys and saddle flashings. Our crews perform all necessary carpentry, painting, masonry, re-pointing and of course sheet metal work. We also have the in-house capabilities to repair and install sheet metal ornamental molding, as well as all copper and lead applications.
• Insulation
  Green roofing is a system of soil and vegetation placed directly over a low slope roofing membrane.  Lightweight green roof systems are an aesthetically pleasing way to extend the life of your roof membrane, and also provide many “green” benefits, including absorbing rainwater, providing sound insulation, and reducing the impact of the “Urban Heat Island Effect.”

  Midland Engineering is a fully licensed and bonded new roofing, re-roofing, sheet metal, masonry restoration and waterproofing subcontractor located in South Bend, Indiana. We have designed, installed and maintained roofing systems for commercial, industrial, institutional and government Customers in Indiana and throughout the United States. Midland has provided these outstanding services to our Customers since the firm was established in 1922.
