- Dental CareAt home dental care is the best way to help maintain good oral health. At home care options include daily tooth brushing with enzymatic toothpaste, daily dental chews (greenies, CET chews,, and tartar shield), healthy mouth water additive, chlorhexidine oral rinses, and dental diets (Hill’s Science Diet TD diet). Use products approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC seal of approval). We do not recommend use of rawhide chews, cow hooves, hard nylon bones, or other natural hard bones. These products are too hard and can cause broken teeth and damaged gums.
- VaccinationAll hospitalized or boarding pets must be current on their vaccinations. Our required vaccinations for dogs are distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, parvo virus, bordetella, and rabies. Our required vaccinations for cats are feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici virus, panleukopenia and rabies.
- Behavioral CounselingWe recommend basic puppy kindergarten and socialization for all puppies. The ideal socialization period is up to 12 weeks and they are most open to new things and people up until 12-16 weeks. Puppies can become fearful of stimuli they have not been exposed to before this age. A great way to help train and socialize your puppy is by starting a puppy class as soon as possible to help to avoid unwanted behaviors and fear issues.

- Leptospirosis TreatmentAll dogs must be current on their distemper vaccine including parvo and leptospirosis, bordetella vaccine, and rabies vaccine
- Bacterial and Viral Infection TreatmentPets need dental care too! By 3 years of age, most pets have evidence of dental disease. Plaque and tartar accumulate on the teeth including below the gum line. This tartar below the gumline can cause tooth root decay, abscess, and bacterial infection in the bloodstream. Dental disease is painful and can lead to disease of the heart, kidneys, and liver.
