Dr. Melman is a Fellowship-trained, Board-certified, and daVinci robot-certified Specialist focused on providing cutting-edge surgical care by combining ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) methods with minimal-access techniques. She has been fortunate to train with prominent leaders in MIS and Hernia surgery and her specific areas of interest include: furthering our understanding of hernia biomaterials, and facilitating surgical skills acquisition and maintenance through methods utilized by non-medical performance-oriented disciplines such as motorsports racing. Dr. Melman's motto: "Better Faster through Technology and Technique", summarizes her commitment to excellence and her dedication to helping patients achieve their personal optimal outcome(s). Dr. Melman is experienced in Minimally Invasive Abdominal Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery for Reflux Disease and Achalasia, Laparoscopic Paraesophageal and Hiatal Hernia repair and Bariatric Surgery. She is also a professional member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Melman was awarded the Resident of the Year Distinguished Service Teaching Award and the Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Award.
