General Info
Mark and Wayne Jacobson, brothers from Virginia, started Cumberland Diamond Exchange with one philosophy, Service with Excellence. This premise has helped to develop long-term relationships over the years while allowing customers the opportunity to purchase diamonds and fine jewelry at substantial savings. The philosophy of service may begin with the excitement and romance of an engagement ring and then continue with the celebration of a wedding anniversary. Whatever the occasion, the service is always there. As the business grew, the service continued with the addition of a Graduate Gemologist in 1991. Rhonda Akins Jacobson became the first Graduate Gemologist at Cumberland Diamond Exchange and has also served as President of the Georgia Chapter of the Gemological Institute of America and has been presented with awards for outstanding service and dedication to the GIA Alumni and community. Currently, the customer service team includes three GIA, Graduate Gemologists and two Master Bench Jewelers with over one hundred years of combined knowledge and experience. There are also four sales consultants that have obtained their GIA Diamond Diplomas. All in all, the team at Cumberland Diamond Exchange is prepared to help you with any of your jewelry needs. Another added benefit for the customers of Cumberland Diamond Exchange is a close partnership with one of DeBeers' largest site-holders in Antwerp, Belgium ( The diamond capital of the World ). This partnership allows Cumberland Diamond Exchange to provide diamonds of the highest quality and value to their customers. Another exclusive benefit to the customer, one provided by very few jewelers, is the ability to track a diamond from its origin throughout the selection process. This attention to detail and service has helped to make Cumberland Diamond Exchange one of the top independent jewelers in America. Community involvement is also very important to Cumberland Diamond Exchange and ties in with the philosophy of service. Throughout the years, many charities in the Metropolitan Atlanta area have received help in the form of donations. Some charities that have received donations in the form of time and/or merchandise include Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, American Heart Association's Heart Ball and Zoo Atlanta's Beastly Feast.
