Matthews Jr., our founder and my late grandfather, opened Matthews Funeral Home in Smyrna, DE. His dreams and goals were simple in concept, yet lasting in their significance. Bill believed in the Rotary Club ideal of ?Service Above Self?, and his goal was to provide sympathetic service to those in need. Three generations and over eight decades later, our family and support staff are ever-mindful of his legacy and of the highest ethical and professional standards he established. Today, more than ever, we are fully committed to providing your family with the finest in services, facilities, and compassionate care.
