Dr. Setliff is an excellent sinus surgeon! I had surgery on March 4th and was back to normal and almost totally healed in a month. For this first time in my life, I can breathe through my nose! For the first 40 years of my life I thought everyone breathed through their mouth. I feel great and HIGHLY recommend Dr. Setliff to anyone needing sinus surgery. BTW, he is NOT an allergist but he can treat most allergies. If you are looking for an allergist...go to an allergist. If you have small nasal passages and a deviated septum, or aren't sure where to start, Dr. Setliff is an excellent choice. As others have mentioned, he's not a young man. However he is a really good surgeon. Do you want a surgeon who is brand new to the field or do you want a surgeon who has done this procedure thousands of times? Personally, I prefer someone who has done this many times.
If you want sinus surgery, see Dr. Setliff or Midwest ENT. If you don't want surgery, if you're unsure, or if you want to find out about allergies, you should see an allergist. When you call, ask if the doctor is board certified in allergy. If they are an ENT doc, all they will want to do is surgery. They don't know how to check for allergies.
