10/27/09 I went to buy school supplies for a Sioux City after school program with program funds. I also had items for personal purchase as well. When I went to the counter to pay with our work credit card the cashier said loudly, "DENIED". I explained it was a new work credit card. I asked if I could have the items set aside so I could come back & purchase them when I had the correct access. The cashier rolled her eyes back & said, "NO, no, no". After her unprofessional remarks & body language, I stated, "Fine, you just lost service for 2 customers." The item amount was not small. After mentioning this experience with another staff member they explained a similiar situation. An individual may not want to portray positive communication, however, when they are employed at a job this type of behavior is not acceptable. The companies revenue pays for their job & needs the $ to operate. What ever happened to customer service best practices when interacting with people?
