I love living here.

Nice apartments, nice size, nice price, nice management, nice ammenties, and great location.

The apts are nice and big but the windows leak cold air. since the new management (seldin) has taken over this place it is now a great place to live. Make sure you pay your rent on time because they don't mess around. Follow the rules and mind your own business and this place is GREAT!!! There is alot of noisy old people living here that think they should be in everyones business but don't pay no mind to them.

The apartments are very nice. While it's true that it is handicap accessible, the elevator ALWAYS seems to have something wrong with it, and there is only one for all five floors. So if you have great difficulty walking up stairs, don't plan on being able to rely on the elevator. The place is definitely nice though. Be warned: the manager of the apartments is not someone you want to be on the bad side of. She is VERY strict and always seems to know when something malicious is going on. ALWAYS.

the apartment space itself is great. the apartments are huge. However, the management is a mess! I've gotten charged for a stopped up tub, 4 her having my car towed when i was never given a parking sticker( but i was parked is designed parking spot she assigned me), she will not put my phone # in the intercom( so I have to walk down & let everyone in that comes to visit me), sometimes I give people my pass to get in since the number not in the intercom( then she discontinues the pass & then my kids & i are stuck outside until we can find someone to let us in or follow in)..This is just to name a few with management. The parking is bad esp when they are having an event at the castle( the visitors take all the residents parking and you are looking for a parking forever or finally decide to park on the next block). The energy bills during the winter months are very high, and the apartments are always cold due to the high ceiling. This is just to name a few things.

Castle on the hill apartments is a community in it's self. You can always find a neighbor willing to help you with almost anything you need. It is the first apartment complex in Iowa to have a nonprofit tenants association. There are many activities offered through the association, like the CASP, the free after school program. Several pot lucks are held through out the year. A meal for the shut ins, elders, and handicap are also offered. Several holiday parties are held every year and door decorating prizes are given out. Management is very helpful with many business related concerns. The castle owners make several visits each year. All parts of the castle and property are handicap accessible
