Under the direction of the Holy Spirit and through the visionary leadership of our Senior Pastor, Dr. Lee P. Washington, Reid Temple A.M.E. Church is a dynamic Christian ministry comprised of believers who fervently study, learn and nurture their Faith. Our prayer is to become more effective and caring Christian servants and to offer meaningful worship experiences for all who enter our doors. One Church in Two Locations Reid Temple is a growing community of faith with two campuses in Glenn Dale and Silver Spring, Maryland and a combined membership of well over 10,000 persons. The church hosts over 80 innovative ministries designed to combat or provide comfort from the many challenging personal issues facing God's people. They include our men's, women's, singles, seniors, youth, marriage enrichment, HIV/AIDS, wellness, anger management counseling, financial empowerment, prayer, prison, street witnessing, sports, fine arts, liturgical dance, Christian education, tutorial services and college outreach ministries. Each Reid Temple location has its own unique features based on the diversity of its members, the kind of worship environments they strive to create and their unique visions from God. What is identical in both locations is a shared dedication to the cause of Christ a warm family feeling, the extension of love and grace to persons from all walks of life and an unshakable commitment to the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ. Both campuses offer a number of weekly Bible study classes and mid-week services in addition to Sunday services. An abundance of other church activities serve the spiritual, physical, educational and emotional needs of all age groups, from children to senior citizens.
