Founded in 1972, Kensington Wheaton Youth Services provides prevention education, mental health and support services to youths and their families. The organization offers short-term counseling and community- and school-based workshops. It also provides assorted youth development services, such as therapeutic recreation and afterschool programming. Kensington Wheaton Youth Services offers information and referral on behavioral health topics. The organization works in partnerships with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and Montgomery County Public Schools. It is operated by the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, which is a private, nonprofit agency that promotes mental wellness and offers advocacy, education and community service programs. Kensington Wheaton Youth Services provides services in English and Spanish.
