If you find yourself working up an appetite trekking around Short Hills Mall, there's a comfy, pleasant meal venue with great salads so you can fit into all those clothes you just bought. This white tablecloth restaurant has a very good bar, a delicious selection of salads, but also very tasty pastas and terrific rolls. My last dinner was disappointing, but I should have known better than to order the fish--it may look like a healthy choice, but skip it: the fish is flavorless and sits on a bed of waterlogged spinach. Better to share a portion of pasta with your dinner companion; less guilt, more flavor. Also, try not to go too early or you may have to listen to noisy children with their moms. For lunch, just make sure you're sitting generally in the middle section for a relaxing, tasty meal. There is also a smoking section in the bar area.
