Shippensburg Area School District provides a wide range of educational services and learning opportunities to the communities located in Shippensburg, Pa. The district covers more than 129-square-miles of area, and enrolls over 3,200 students in grades kindergarten through 12. It operates four educational facilities that include updated technology, including automated library circulation systems and computers and Internet access in each classroom. It additionally houses gymnasiums, specialized rooms for music and art, library media facilities to support the educational process, a modern swimming facility, planetarium, as well as athletic and recreational facilities, including an all-weather track. Additionally, the district and Shippensburg University jointly operate the Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School, an elementary school located on the campus of Shippensburg University.
