Founded in 1963, Ponderosa High School serves students in grades nine through 12 and is located in Shingle Springs, Calif. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,900 students and is affiliated with the El Dorado Union High School District. It offers a wide range of courses, including agriculture, business and technology, English, family and consumer science, foreign language, history and social science, mathematics, science, special education, trade and industrial education, visual and performing arts, and health and physical education. The school also has various clubs and organizations, such as academic decathlon, foreign languages, interact and key clubs, forensic society, the Future Farmers of America and student council. Ponderosa High School offers a variety of athletics activities that include baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, golf, water polo, cross country and wrestling.
