Hayes Instrument under Eddie was the best. With the change in ownership, friendly customer service is almost non-existent. You can tell a change into a negative atmosphere by the staff. The mail order is still good, with good prices and a wide selection. Fast shipping. But I and many other surveyors miss the old Hayes Instruments. I no longer buy Topcon gear.

Their sales staff is very knowledgeable and what they do not know they will find out for you. The service department is very fast with their turn around. The equipment gets in, gets repaired correctly the first time, and gets back to you quickly. The technical support department is the best I have ever experienced in ANY industry. The guys there know the equipment inside and out and can walk you through almost any problem in minutes most of the time. If we need anything that Hayes offers, we go there first and last. Best prices, best service, best tech support. Period.
