Located in Shelby, N.C., Jefferson Elementary School is a coeducational institution that is operated by Cleveland County Schools. It teaches students in prekindergarten through third grade. The school has a staff of approximately 50 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes a Title I teacher, academically gifted educator, media coordinator, physical education instructor, child nutritionist, custodian, curriculum coordinator, diagnostician, psychologist, speech clinician, French teacher, guidance counselor and social worker. It operates a parent-teacher organization that provides planning and implementation of a variety of fundraising activities for the benefit of the school. Jefferson Elementary School also provides lunch and bus transportation services to the students.
