  Kelly is the newest associate to Hopp Neumann Humke. Kelly represents the interests of the public in cases involving children in need of protection and services, guardianships, and the termination of parental rights. Kelly works closely with the Sheboygan County Health and Human Services Department to establish permanency for in-need children residing in the community to provide them safety, certainty, and room for growth and development.

• Money Laundering
  Beginning on January 1, 2024, many companies in the United States will need to report beneficial owner information (BOI) to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCen), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In 2021, Congress enacted the Corporate Transparency Act (the Act), which created reporting obligations for the purpose of detecting, preventing and punishing terrorism, money laundering and other misconduct through opaque ownership structures.  A “beneficial owner” is an individual who, directly or indirectly, exercises substantial control over the entity or owns or controls at least 25 percent of the ownership interests of the entity.

  Every business confronts commercial transactions, sometimes simple, sometimes complex. We have extensive experience in drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements, commercial leases, employment agreements such as covenants not to compete, joint venture agreements, bank documents and other financing agreements.

  We represent employers in the ever growing complexity of managing employee relationships. Our lawyers provide advice and representation in litigation regarding hiring and termination matters, discrimination and harassment charges, FMLA and ADA claims, union issues, unemployment compensation matters, and employment contracts. We strongly believe in a proactive approach to help them avoid employment problems. Two key tools are employee handbooks and training. We work closely with employers to develop a good, usable employee handbook and provide effective training to help employers ensure their employees understand the rules.

  Paul primarily works with individuals and small business owners in estate planning, probate/trust administration and real estate matters. He routinely meets with clients at different phases of life to prepare and update their wills, trusts and powers of attorney. Paul actively listens to learn each client’s unique circumstances, and to tailor a cost-effective plan to meet their desired goals. When the need arises, Paul represents family members charged with administering the estate of a loved one. He takes special care to ensure that estates are planned and resolved as efficiently and fairly as possible.
• Real Estate Transactions
  We represent clients in all types of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including sales by owner, leases and eviction actions. We advise clients on subdivision planning and condominium ownership issues. Our goal is to identify and resolve potential problems and risks and to facilitate a successful real estate transaction.
• Eminent Domain
  Crystal also has a substantial municipal law practice. She counsels elected and appointed officials and management staff on zoning and development issues, public nuisances, eminent domain, annexations, and utility regulations. Crystal serves as the Sheboygan County Corporation Counsel and City Attorney for the City of Plymouth.

  We assist municipal clients in coordinating efforts with developers to ensure the orderly and efficient development of land. Our team guides municipalities through the zoning and land use issues that are often involved with development projects.
