Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, founded in 1924, offers graphic communications research and education services. It has various divisions that include research, training, consulting, publications, and process and quality controls. Its facilities include prepress, pressrooms, testing laboratories, libraries, and classrooms that provide a platform for innovative sheetfed and Web research, publications and instruction, and the development of test images. The foundation's research activities include waste control, environmental studies and quality control. It also offers educational activities, including an extensive publication program, career and curricular consultation for schools and universities, and seminars, workshops and conferences for the graphic arts community. The educational division includes a graphic arts library. Graphic Arts Technical Foundation is located in Sewickley, Pa.
