Established in 1890, the United Methodist Children's Home has a presence in Selma, Ala. The organization provides community-based services, emergency assistance, family aid, scholarships and residential programs to individuals and families. It offers a variety of spiritual, physical, social and educational opportunities for children, youths and their families. The United Methodist Children's Home provides transitional living homes for young adults and group home care for children and adolescent mothers. The organization also offers family preservation and support services for families dealing with child abuse and neglect. It provides foster care support and adoption services. The United Methodist Children's Home is licensed by the Alabama Department of Human Resources, Alabama Department of Youth Services and Florida Department of Children and Families.
