General Info
28 years as a Landscaper and Architectural Designer doesn't even touch the surface of who and what Jim is all about. That just tells you about his "day job." But, he's more than that. Landscaping isn't just a job to Jim. It's his passion. Sure, he will create the greatest landscape of your dreams, but it's not only because he cares about you, it's because he truly cares about the land. Jim's passion about nature and the earth began early in his life, growing up in the harsh elements of South Dakota and Wisconsin. In his teens he fell in love with the ocean, and at the ripe old age of 16, he ended up as a treasure diver for Mel Fisher. At the bequest of his beloved 106 year-old grandfather, Jim pursued his dreams at every turn, and soon realized that working with the earth was what was in his heart, and he rolled with it. Not only did he ultimately win the HGTV Landscapers' Challenge, but along the way Jim also understood the importance of the preservation of Mother Earth. Jim has offered seminars about conscious landscaping, and also while living on the island of Kauai, providing tours of the landscape and ocean to educate and stimulate the love, fascination and wonder of nature that was inbred in him. In 2007, when 53, large, beautiful old Sycamore trees in Sedona were in danger of being cut down to make way for the renovation of Hwy 179, Jim started a "Save Sedona Trees" campaign which resulted in the re-routing of the renovation to prevent the destruction of the glorious trees from being cut down. So, with this kind of love and care for the earth, who would you entrust to take care of your landscaping needs? Jim is one-of-a-kind. He will listen to your dreams, and help to make them a reality in the most efficient, cost-effective way.Twn
