General Info

Priya Sharma, MD, has always had a strong sense of community. Her strong interest in science, and firm belief that service to man is service to God, made studying medicine her natural path. She earned her medical degree from the University of The West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad, West Indies, completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida, and fellowship in advanced GI surgery at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Sharma treats diseases of the colon, rectum, stomach, bile ducts, pancreas and small bowel using many of the latest laparoscopic and robotic techniques. She welcomes patients from childhood through the senior years and finds it rewarding to work and grow along with the families she serves. As testament to her expertise and the care she shows each patient, Dr. Sharma has received many awards throughout her career. She's also respected by her peers as a published author in her field. To care for her own physical, mental and spiritual health, Dr. Sharma takes every possible opportunity to hike, cycle and spend quality time with her family.
