Ramon Torres, MD, is a cardiologist who has been practicing in Highlands County, Florida since 1999. Following in the footsteps of his father and older brother, who are both doctors, he now serves patients from childhood through adulthood at AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology at Sun 'N Lake and AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology at Lake Placid. Dr. Torres' brother, also a cardiologist, inspired him to follow the same path. He saw the impact of his care on patients' lives - and even his father's life when he experienced a heart attack when Dr. Torres was 6 years old. Dr. Torres, who speaks English, Spanish and Tagalog, is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He earned his medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, completed his residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center, in Brooklyn, New York and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the same institution. In his free time, Dr. Torres enjoys golfing, fishing and traveling.
