- Corporate LawMike Sorensen has been practicing tax, pension and corporate law since the 1970's. Mike received his law degree from the University of Washington and was on the Law Review. While on Law Review, Mike was a Comment Editor and authored two published articles. One article discusses how past performance affects the Statute of Frauds, while the second was part of a symposium on the revised Washington State Criminal Code. Mike finished law school as a member of Order of the Coif.
- Business DisputesMike's present practice focuses on the corporate, real estate and business law issues. He has substantial business and tax law experience, and has been lead counsel in over two dozen "no-action" requests directed to various securities regulators. He also has been counsel in a substantial number of cases before the U.S. Tax Court and the federal appellate courts.
- Business TransactionsWe are Seattle-based, although we consult throughout the United States. We have extensive experience in a wide range of business transactions and we represent several of the Native Corporations organized under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) on a regular basis. Our representation of our ANCSA clients is primarily a general corporate representation with emphasis on the specific and unique issues and opportunities that face Alaska Native corporations (commonly known as "ANCs").
- Tax LawBruce has been practicing tax law since the 1970's, and has a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University. Following NYU, Bruce clerked for the Honorable Shiro Kashiwa at the United States Court of Claims in Washington, D.C. (now the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit). The Court of Claims had jurisdiction of tax refund cases, as well as being the appellate tribunal for the old Indian Claims Commission.
