General Info
Seattle Biomedical Research Institute is a nonprofit organization founded in 1976. Located in Seattle, it has more than 200 staff members working in research and field labs in various countries, including the United States and Tanzania. It provides clinical research services for new drugs, vaccines and diagnostics. It offers research services for various infectious diseases, such as malaria, tuberculosis, listeriosis, leishmaniasis, candidiasis, and HIV and AIDS. It also provides research for Chagas' disease and African sleeping sickness. Its research services include applications-based discoveries, and parasitic biology and biochemistry. Seattle Biomedical Research Institute also offers training and education programs, which include the Monday seminar series, bioquest education program, and pathogen interest and the Seattle malaria groups.
