Founded in 1977, the National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association, also known as CASA, is a nonprofit organization that offers legal assistance for children. It supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for the victims of negligence and abuse. The organization provides leadership and research-based training for volunteers. The National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association offers technical and financial assistance for researches. Additionally, it organizes conferences and provides public awareness programs. The organization also publishes the Powerful Voice! newsletter, The Connection magazine and an annual report. The National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association has more than 50,000 volunteers and serves over 225,000 children throughout the United States. It is located in Seattle.
