• Criminal Defense
  Cooperate with police and give full and accurate statements (unless you may be charged with a crime because of the accident, in which case you should hire a criminal defense attorney before speaking with police).
• DUI/DWI
  Don’t drive when you’re intoxicated on anything - intoxicated drivers kill over 20,000 Americans per year. You could be cited for DUI if you drive when affected by alcohol, illegal drugs, prescription drugs, or even over-the-counter drugs such as cold medicine.
• Wrongful Death
  When a person wrongfully kills another, either carelessly or intentionally, the survivors have a claim for wrongful death. Parents of a wrongfully killed child have a claim for death of a child. The law is very tricky in this area and we have extensive experience. Jeff Herman has successfully resolved 46 wrongful death cases as of February 2012.
• Traffic Violations
  A pedestrian struck by a speeding driver, sustaining a fatal brain injury: $135,000 (limit of all available insurance policies). The at-fault driver’s insurer initially denied liability, but forensic evidence proved fault. Heirs also benefited from reduction in Medicare reimbursement, provided at no charge.
• Murder
  A father who was murdered by his ex-wife’s new husband, in front of his 12-year-old daughter: $500,000 (all of the slayer’s assets). The murderer was also sent to prison for Murder in the Second Degree.
• Homicide
  A passenger riding with a drunk driver who spun out and slammed into a construction truck, causing fatal injuries: $150,000, plus waiver of outstanding medical bills (limit of all available insurance policies). The at-fault drunk driver, who was underaged, also was convicted of felony vehicular homicide.
