Dr. April Parker provides pediatric dental services at Leap Kids Pediatric Dental in Searcy, Arkansas. She started her work in pediatric dentistry under Dr. James Bevans in 2009 and joined the Leap Kids Pediatric Dental family along with Dr. Bevans in 2015. She attended the University of Central Arkansas where she completed a Bachelors in Biology and went on to receive a Masters in Biology with an emphasis in Aquatic Ecology. While working on her masters at UCA, she worked as a park naturalist and a dental assistant. This is where she was exposed to the world of dentistry and immediately loved it. She then attended Louisiana State University where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Parker also has extensive training in orthodontics from the Medical University of South Carolina. The best part of my job is earning the trust of a scared patient. There is nothing more rewarding to me than changing anxiety and tears into excitement and high fives. Dr. Parker loves the outdoors. Before becoming a dentist, she worked at a state park as a park naturalist. She has a masters degree in biology and her research concentrated on fresh water ecology. On nice weekends you will find her outside either hiking, camping or gardening. Also anyone that knows her, knows about her dachshund Peety who has been her best friend for 17 years. She has some unbelievable stories about him. From running with a wild pack of dogs for 2 weeks to all his rare medical conditions, just feel free to ask about him if you are interested or need a good laugh!
