Nanticoke Memorial Hospital started as a 32-bed hospital in 1952, and has expanded to offer extended care, business and outpatient services, medical centers, and a range of health care services throughout Sussex County and Eastern Caroline counties in Delaware. The hospital provides preventive medicine and health education programs to more than 100,000 residents in the area. It operates an extended care facility that specializes in wound management, nutritional support, respiratory therapy, pain relief management and chemotherapy. It also provides care for the terminally ill patients and a specialty dementia unit. Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, located in Seaford, Del., also participates in various community outreach programs, patient education and medical nutrition therapies.
