With dual board certification in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology, as well as extensive experience in the field, Dr. Khalsa has helped many patients achieve optimal health and wellness. Withherdiligenceand compassion, Dr. Khalsahas also been recognized in Phoenix Magazine's TopDoc.Dr. Khalsa is a New York native, having received her Bachelor of Science in biology at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, where she was also selected into a scholarship program for Women in Science and Engineering.Before entering medical school, she went to State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, where she obtained a Master in Public Health with a specialization in community health science. Her Master's provided her a solid foundation in issues that affect populationhealth, such as disease prevention andpromotion of high quality of careDr. Khalsa then went on to receive her medical degree from St. George's University. During that time, she was honored to serve as vice president of the Clinical Research Society. She then returned to Stony Brook University to complete an Internal Medicine Residency. From there, she went to Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, for fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology.In keeping with her ongoing passion for research, Dr. Khalsa has been published as a first author in peer-reviewed academic journals and has co-authored several research studies. She has also presented at national and local allergy and immunology conferences, focusing on topics such as chronic idiopathic urticaria, eosinophilia, and food protein-induced enterocolitis.Throughout her career, Dr. Khalsa has been a strong leader and educator. She plays an active role in medical student and resident education and was recently appointed Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics for Midwestern University and Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.In addition to her current board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, Dr. Khalsa is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She is also a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology. Her hospital affiliations include Honor Health, where she serves as a member of the board for IPO.Dr. Khalsa naturally connects with her patients, taking the time to listen and explain her reasoning. Her demeanor and professionalism have earned her trust among her peers and her patients.
