The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs, also known as NCPDP, is a nonprofit standards development organization. It has more than 1,500 members from various sectors of the pharmacy services industry. The organization creates and promotes standards for the transfer of data to and from the pharmacy services sector of the health care industry. The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs provides a forum and support to maintain standards through a consensus building process. It provides membership opportunities and offers educational and database services to members. The organization focuses on industry knowledge, networking, and personal and professional development and growth of members. The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs is accredited by the American National Standards Institute. It is located in Scottsdale, Ariz.
