General Info
Dr. Leigh Anne Randa, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in individual and group therapy for the treatment of trauma related disorders including PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders. Recognizing that trauma comes from various experiences ranging from combat and sexual trauma to abuse and adverse life events, Dr. Randa offers various modalities of treatment and strives to match clients with the most effective therapy based on client preference and needs. She is a certified provider for Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure therapy (PE), Interpersonal Therapy for Depression (IPT), and Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT). Additional she is highly trained in Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD (CBCT) and Skills Training for Affect and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR). Dr. Randa is currently working towards certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Dr. Randa has worked with our Veteran population since 2008, serving as Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator and Women’s Staff Psychologist at the Iowa City VA Health Care System and most recently with the PTSD Clinical Team at the Phoenix VA Health Care System. Dr. Randa has been active in psychological research and training/supervision of students at the Intern and Post Doctoral level. Dr. Randa earned her Ph.D. from Seattle Pacific University with an emphasis on Behavioral Psychology and Neuropsychology. She completed her Internship at The Iowa City VA Health Care System and did her postdoctoral work at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital, specializing in the care of Veterans comorbidly diagnosed with PTSD and traumatic brain injury. Current areas of research interest include “moral injury” and “spiritual psychosomatic medicine.” With over 9 years experience working with the emotional and mental health effects of different forms of trauma, Dr. Randa is currently serving as a private practitioner treating a broad spectrum of clients.
