The Jackson County Board of Education is the policy forming body for the Jackson County School District. The board approves plans and grants developed by administrative staff members. The Jackson County School District manages elementary, middle and high schools. The district s schools provide classes in several subjects, such as math, reading, music, art, physical education, social studies and science. Its schools also offer options to participate in a selection of sports events in basketball, golf and softball. The district s schools provide participation opportunities in student organizations, including Beta and Spanish clubs. In addition, its schools manage libraries and parent-teacher associations.
