- Diabetic RetinopathyDr. Reed grew up in Tuscaloosa and graduated from the University of Alabama. He then completed a master’s degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Florida, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He went on to do his fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Retina and Vitreous of Texas in Houston, where he was a sub-investigator in multiple clinical trials studying emerging therapies in macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
