Founded in 1967, Ceradyne Thermo Materials provides fused silica ceramic products and has a facility of more than 85,000 square feet. The company specializes in manufacturing fused silica ceramic components for industrial markets. Its industrial products serve a wide market where high temperature, thermal shock resistance and low-thermal expansion is required. Ceradyne Thermo Materials also produces missile radomes for the Patriot, Aegis and Arrow missile systems from its fused silica ceramic. In addition, it specializes in final grinding of the silicon nitride-based radomes. The company is located in Clarkston, Ga., and is a subsidiary of Ceradyne, a developer and manufacturer of technical ceramic products and components for the defense, industrial, automotive, diesel, electronic and medical industries.
