BEWARE...Illegal housing practices! As we speak 3/17/2011, my daughter in-law is locked out of her apartment without being served an eviction notice. Although she has not had her day in court her locks were changed on 3/14/2011. Management continues to deny her access to her belongings. She has been by 2 times in the past couple of days to retrieve property and has been told that only the maintenance man has keys and that he can not be gotten a hold of. This property excepts HUD funds and is in strict violation of all housing laws, local , state and federal. GET THIS! SHE HAS NO OTHER PLACE TO GO BUT THE NEW "HAVEN FOR HOPE" HOMELESS SHELTER AND HER CREDENTIALS TO ENTER ARE LOCKED IN THE APARTMENT. SHE HAS BEEN SLEEPING IN THE STREETS FOR 3 NIGHTS AND MANAGEMENT KNOWS THIS. The funny thing is that she agreed to move and said that she would be out by 3/15/2011. Management offered to move her furniture for her...this was nice right? Well, maybe not! They not only moved the belongings she wanted but also dumped the items she did not want in my front yard saying that they she could not use the dumpster. Now I have to pay for it all to be haled off. That's fine I guess, but when she returned to get her remaining items (Haven for Hope badge, bike, backpack, jacket and phone charger) and spend her last night in the apartment before leaving the next morning the locks were changed and she was denied access. Don't worry, we can handle this situation, but I urge you to BEWARE!!!
