General Info
In 1947 James J. Cusick Sr. started Industrial Welding Supply in a two car garage in Highland Park, New Jersey. By 1952 Big Jim , as he was called, was looking to expand, and so he bought Sprague Welding Supply on Davidson Avenue in Perth Amboy. As the business grew he felt the need to expand even further which resulted in the purchase of a new facility on Fayette Street in Perth Amboy. A few years later in 1964, his son, Jim Jr. joined with his father, and by 1969 owing to this successful venture, another move to a larger location was necessary. This time across the Raritan River to the current location, a three acre site with two buildings at 4 Val Street in Sayreville.

Their prices are ok. The counter help could be better. Most of the guys 'behind the counter' know exactly what they are doing, but they are usually on the telephone helping BIG customers with orders that require shipping. That leaves the younger, less knowledgeable guy at the counter. For example, I stopped in there for some TIG Torch parts (cups, tungstens, etc) ... the poor guy was baffled. He had to have me come around the counter to help him find everything. He is a good guy and genuinely want's to help folks, I just don't think he is a welder. Having said all that, the guys out back DO get you a cylinder lickety-split!Overall, a good place.
No tank rentals, just sales, but I got the gas and tank I needed in less than 5 minutes, they live up to their claim about 'everything you need under one roof'. Tank price was a bit on the high side but I'd rather support a local business over a monopoly in the making.
