Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless, founded in 1989, is one of the leading organizations providing a variety of services for the homeless. Located in Savannah, Ga., it provides child and family housing development services, such as emergency shelter beds and transitional and permanent housing programs. It provides a range of outreach, education, training and literacy programs. The organization also offers health and nutrition, transportation, and behavioral health services. It fulfills its role through collaborative arrangements and partnerships with providers of services, and advocates, local governments, religious bodies, civic clubs, law enforcement officials, social agencies, volunteer organizations, and other groups with similar goals and objectives.
